Umbra Motion Picture Company is a London-based independent production company formed by filmmakers Finbar Somers & Seán Mackey. Our work encompasses short and long-form narrative, documentary and commercial filmmaking. As well as collaborating with clients and fellow creatives, we are constantly developing projects of our own. Fundamentally, our focus is on storytelling through film. We strive for our work to be distinctive, defined by rich visuals, engaging characters and original stories. Since its creation, Umbra has been involved in producing projects in the US, UK and Indonesia, and our projects have been presented at forums across the world. This includes South Korea’s DMZ Industry, Indonesia’s Docs By The Sea, and the UK’s Sheffield DocFest.
