American Sketchbook

I am attracted to The American Dream. I live and travel in California for several months every year. I use trains, planes, cars, buses, ferries, freeways and trams. Travel and transport feel American. American sketchbook is a photographic journal of a life in perpetual motion, the recording of quick reactions across 163,000 square miles, a 24 hour commute and a freeway state. It's a sketchbook of quick reactive compositions capturing: bold colour, a random event, a passing car, graphic lines, a still figure, a silhouette, a refection, sunlight, a drive-in, a motel, a journey or a flag. This project documents the visual quirks and patterns of life on the go in the USA.
