- Hackney Marsh Heroes2001, Personal Project Retro analogue/film project. Mamiya C330 and Kodak Tri-X 400 Part of a joint project called ‘Footballissimo’. A grass roots celebration of football in a world cup year. I went to hackney marshes (the home of grass roots football) every Sunday for months and shot portraits of pub team football players. - American SketchbookI am attracted to The American Dream. I live and travel in California for several months every year. I use trains, planes, cars, buses, ferries, freeways and trams. Travel and transport feel American. American sketchbook is a photographic journal of a life in perpetual motion, the recording of quick reactions across 163,000 square miles, a 24 hour commute and a freeway state. - Northen ExposureMy children and their mum are Scottish, born and raised. I hope by experiencing Scotland's natural beauty their sense of national identity roots itself more firmly than mine. In a time of brexit and possible Scottish Independence...belonging is important, home is important. Scotland is now my home of some 15 years, yet i'll always be an outsider. Traces of me spread over England, Ireland, Scotland and now the USA. Perhaps I'm European, or just a citizen of the world.
- USA Vietnam War VeteransI’ve been chipping away at a long term and very personal photography project for a few years now. I meet American Vietnam War Veterans through friends in the USA. I then visit them at home or a place where they are comfortable. We shoot a triptych of images and I ask one question. The three images vary but the question is always the same, “What is your most poignant memory of your Vietnam War experience?” The replies are diverse…some are hard to hear, some hard to say and many never spoken
