The team behind Muslim Sisterhood are hosting a launch event to celebrate their first zine, in collaboration with Between Borders magazine they will be hosting a photography exhibition and zine launch by artists Zeinab Saleh, Sara Gulamali and photographer Lamisa Khan. The exhibition consists of work from their series Muslim Sisterhood which captures young Muslim women in inner-city London. Their upcoming zine is a platform created in collaboration with Between Borders magazine to explore female Muslim identity and Britishness in the 21st century, with a focus on celebrating the experience of young Muslim women and their contributions to the community across the capital. Muslim sisterhood is a platform for Muslim women, and in an increasingly polarised and divisive climate, this zine aims to celebrate and highlight the positivity emanating from the community. The zine will include photography from Muslim Sisterhood as well as texts which include writing about spirituality, relationships and Ramadan. The trio aims to give opportunities to and centre Muslim women and non-binary Muslims wherever they can from writers, panellists and DJ’s.
