Can picture books meet the crisis in children's mental health?
Commended for Creative Conscience Award 2019, this hand-drawn animation sequence collides Young Minds mental health charity, and World Book Day promotes the importance of illustrated fiction, and the positive effects it has regarding younger children’s mental health.
Traditional hand drawn animation is used throughout the motion sequence, with the visual language borrowed from children’s books as a hand drawn, doodle aesthetic. Its underlining goal was to try and persuade parents to present their children with illustrated fiction books in order to provide better support for their mental health.
