COLLABORATIVE UNIT (2016/2017)
EXPLORE THE WAYS IN WHICH YOU ENGAGE WITH FASHION, AND HOW IN TURN, FASHION ENGAGES WITH YOU.
Driven by my fascination for human nature in the context of (fashion) design, I challenged the minds and creativity of students of the University of the Arts London (UAL), London College of Fashion as part of the Collaborative Unit. Caroline Zaidan, Isabelle Violet Thibault, Susanne James and Eleftheria Karipid researched the engagement between fashion and the body/senses and engaged with the public on the issue: How can fashion nowadays truly connect with the body and human beings instead of being just a simple aesthetic of a symbolic phenomenon?
Since fashion is such a multifaceted concept, the ways each of us understands it is quite varied, yet very relevant to the way in which we engage with the industry and the idea of fashion as a focus of study.
The project was presented at LCF, FASHIONCLASH Festival 2017 and in the FASHIONCLASH Festival magazine, in various media such as FashionUnited, online and social media and the release of the Fashion Makes Sense Ezine.
