For this feature, I travelled to Patagonia with award-winning photographer (www.jonathangregson.co.uk) to trace the journey of Lady Florence Dixie, a little-known female explorer who came to the region in the late 19th century "because it was an outlandish place and so far away". The stand-out moments: tracking a puma through the Torres del Paine National Park, and helping with (well, getting in the way of) the annual sheep round-up at the estancia belonging to Victor and Victor Senior, two of the most hospitable people I've ever met.
