Headwater is a bespoke holiday company who specialises in walking and cycling holidays across the UK, Europe, the Mediterranean and Bermuda. Their holidays are tailor-made, and they focus on hand-picked accommodation and quality local cuisines. For their 2019-2020 Travel Brochure, the client was looking to completely redesign the look and feel of the brochure and make it feel more premium. The brief was to showcase their bespoke holidays, highlight the fantastic food and hand-picked accommodation, make the 200+ page brochure feel like a premium piece, and ensure that all of the information was clear and easy to read. Working under the Headwater brand proposition ‘get closer’, I worked with creative copywriter Gavin Lucas on behalf of Engine Group to come up with the overall art direction and tone of voice, and completely redesigned the introductory pages in an editorial style, making the brochure feel more modern and premium. I then chose imagery that reflected the brand proposition; close-up shots that reveal insights into each location in terms of local food, activities, and stylised location shots. Because this was such an information heavy piece, it was important to make sure that the individual trip pages that followed were clear and uncluttered.
