Iceland foods tasked Weber Shandwick to create a series of social examples that would illustrate to the frozen food giant how they could respond to two of the possible trending events of the summer: a heatwave and the return of Game of Thrones to the small screen.
I created the below assets and copy in response to Iceland's request. For the summer heatwave reactive trend, I created a rotation gif featuring popular summer 'in bread' products such as hamburgers and hotdogs. I paired this with a fun loving tone of voice that made use of a popular summer pun, 'suns out, guns out' and adapted it to say 'suns out, buns out' to promote the range.
For the first piece of Game of Thrones content, I chose to pair one of the show's most famout catchphrases 'Winter is coming', with a relatable moment for Iceland customers: walking into the frozen section and feeling cold.
For the second piece of Gane of Thrones content, I played with the shows' title swapping the word thrones for cones and another of the catchphrases 'When you play the game of thrones....' . For the asset, I recreated the show's iconic Iron Throne out of Iceland ice cream cones. I also recommended that we include a link to product with this post.
Iceland Foods loved this reactive content and Weber Shandwick has since become their retainer social media agency.
