Illustration: Under the Midnight Sun

What is Scandinavian style? Can it be designed and if so, how? This catalogue accompanies the project UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN, which discusses these questions in visual experiments. Five different approaches are used to illustrate eight poems by the Swedish poet Karin Boye. The poems reflect central values and characteristics of Scandinavian style and feel. The typeface Sweden Sans, which is used by the Swedish government and state for official and promotional material, has been used throughout the project as a unifying element and to promote the affiliation with Scandinavia, particularly Sweden – the country in focus in this project.
