Hi there! I'm Catarina, a visual artist currently living in London, UK. I have developed my artistic practice due to my experience as a freelance photographer in arts organisations, including The Barbican Centre and Kettle’s Yard. Besides my personal work touching upon themes such as psychogeography and memory, I have arts administration and production skills from my role as vice-president of the Photographic Society at University of Cambridge and work placement at Film and Video Umbrella. As a recent graduate of a Film Studies degree, I have broadened my expertise and understanding on the influence of photography in film.Locked Pro Plan feature

During my work placement at Livity, I received training on how to interpret a creative brief and produce visual content to match the brief. One of my briefs involved looking at the most interesting platforms and technology out there and research upcoming launches and interesting technology which is in development. Due to my background in film, my research was on the influence of film on ads and new video trends, including visual references from different art mediums.
The Cambridge Immerse Campus Photographer is on hand during the Cambridge Immerse programme to document the life of the students. By joining activities, classes and excursions, I integrated myself with the students and staff to get the most engaging images to reflect life at Cambridge Immerse. In addition, I was also responsible to create photographs the company could use in their marketing campaigns. During the busiest weeks, I had the role of supervising other photographer to maximise the activities covered in an efficient manner, and also to make sure the right photographic material was edited and delivered on time.
Took part in a twelve–week programme that brings photographers aged 14 to 25 together with professional art-form specialists to develop our skills and technique as a photographer. The group met at the Barbican every week to work alongside mentor photographer Camilla Greenwell and other guest mentors who led specialised sessions.

Worked across a range of different areas in order to provide insight into various aspects of FVU's operations including marketing and communications, analysis, working with the physical and digital archives, as well as more general arts administration. I also contributed with my photography to document the exhibition Changing Places.
Besides developing my directing and editing skills, I broadened my expertise and understanding on the influence of photography in film and received a top mark for my dissertation on the photographic influence of Nordic landscape in Swedish film.
