Open City Documentary Festival is the one of the UK's biggest film festivals dedicated solely to the art of documentary film making. Following a successful pitch we were asked to re-design the festival identity and this year's printed materials. The identity is based on the concept of creating open space in the community, which is exactly what the festival promotes. The client wanted the identity to reflect the festival's young and modern atmosphere. Using simple graphic devices and subtle imagery, we crafted a considered, recognisable and fresh image for the festival to thrive on. To help showcase the event we created a range of promotional materials including a 20 page newspaper, 60 page brochure, posters, flyers, banners, tote bags, badges, stickers, signage and way-finding. With the new identity and approach, Open City Documentary Festival was very well received by new and existing audiences.
