Crown have been responsible for Sony’s activation of the Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) since its inception in 2007. The Awards is a pivotal event for Sony, a premier platform to showcase the brand’s photography credentials in support of the World Photography Organisation (WPO) and their objectives. Promoting the world of photography from a diverse, artistic pool of amateurs and professionals, SWPA has become the world’s largest photography competition, recognising emerging talent from across the globe.
Working very closely with Sony and the WPO throughout, we help to produce a visually stunning event in London’s iconic Somerset House with a primary responsibility for hosting Sony's Press and VIP guests from across Europe during the opening three days.
The format for the event naturally centres around the Awards Ceremony itself and the Exhibition which is open to the public for a two week duration. During the opening week a host of photographic activity and fringe events take place which can take on different themes and focus. Sony Masterclasses are a regular feature and are often elaborate productions set in and around Somerset House and the Southbank.
