St Catherine’s Hospice in West Sussex and Surrey care for terminally ill people in both the hospice and in their own homes. To help reposition themselves as leaders in their field St Catherine’s rebranded with the help of London-based agency, Someone. Working alongside Someone, I was the first designer to roll out the new branding externally. I was designing their annual review, a flagship document for the hospice which would be unveiled at their annual AGM meeting - attended by members, trustees and directors - who all have an interest in how the hospice is run, so the publication needed to grab attention. Past annual reviews have all been a bit flat, both in terms of presentation and form. Given the new branding had so much personality I decided to give the annual review some of its own too - I created a document which when folded down became an A5 publication, but as it unfolded it revealed more of the work the hospice had done over the past year.
