It’s impossible to define the art of a city like London. It’s a heaving megalopolis, constantly changing, multifarious and multicultural. Artists have been a lifeline in London, creating in the best and worst of times, creating in the thick of it all. Artists are the city’s most incisive observers – and often its fiercest critics. It is artists who can see the worst and imagine a better future. As London welcomes the international art community for Frieze Week, we explore the city from the perspective of three artists.
