The Brief
Wilderness Reserve, a collection of luxury cottages and manors in Suffolk, produce a catalogue every year with the sole focus of encouraging sales for the upcoming year.
They were great at producing slick and striking visuals, and filling the pages with vital details. But what was missing was a sense of personality and whimsy.
I was hired to write all the copy for their 2017 brochure. It had to be vastly different from what had come before and evoke the spirit of what it's like to stay on the reserve.
The Finished Product
I produced an opening piece of prose for the brochure that set a tone of escapism, referencing core elements of their properties without the need for dull listing.
From here I went on to describe their properties balancing required details with just the right level of poetry for the narrative. The reader was encouraged to focus on purchasing a moment in time, rather than purely renting a property.
The feedback from the team was incredible and as a result they hired me to work on their website copy and then produce a series of images to evoke a more relevant, vibrant picture of life at Wilderness Reserve.
