I'm fascinated by people, patterns, and stories. As a futurist, consultant, public speaker and coach, I have over 20 years experience in creating transformational change and people-centred immersive ecosystems. I believe that innovation should be systemic across a business and in order to create an ethical culture of innovation, you first need to turn those ‘doing’ the innovating into philosophers of life, society and humanity. Business change is people change. I believe in the power of human potential and have developed The Four Freedoms as a framework to enable people and organisations to be more HUMAN in an increasingly digital and technological world. To recognise that your greatest asset is your ability to make choices, to understand your individual and collective value and to adapt their behaviours to create sustainable and impactful change. Identity, Culture, Economics, Ecosystem. Personal expression: Transformation begins by examining and understanding the why, who, what, where, when and how of one's identity and values. The labels one chooses to accept, wear or reject. Bridging the gap between internal beliefs and external narratives enables people to bring their full-selves to each environment. To be unapologetically themselves. To be human. Cultural freedom: Inclusive cultures, systems and structures (technological, social, business, economic, political) empower individuals to flourish leading to an organic paradigm shift in beliefs, values and behaviours. Inclusivity is more transformational than diversity. Economic freedom: Numbers count, and yet they only tell part of the story. Human measures such as passion and impact have a greater bearing on motivation, happiness, innovation and sustainable financial growth. Social freedom: Creativity and innovation flourish in organic ecosystems, where there is an appreciation of the value, contribution and impact of every human in the system. Social freedom occurs (or is enhanced) when people or organisations are in a state of flow; when the previous three freedoms (personal expression, culture and economics) are addressed and introduced, moving it from one of surviving to thriving. I work with clients in three ways through strategic consulting, public speaking and coaching. I help my clients to recognise and harness the value of their brand equity which ultimately will have a positive bearing on their identities, relationships, business operations, revenue streams and wider society. I have worked with businesses and individuals in marketing, advertising, media, entrepreneurship, start-ups, and education and take a humanity-centred design approach to problem-solving. My clients have included, Sainsbury's, Ogilvy Labs, Innovate Finance, The EU Council, the British Film Institute (BFI) to name a few. I have spoken and hosted at events such as Nominet Trust's Transforming Lives with Tech: A Global Conversation; Google for Nonprofits UK Annual Summit, DigitasLBi UK NewFront Make the Internet Great Again, Pirate Summit, Shambala Festival, and ArabNet Dubai. I speak about the future of work; the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship on equality; personal identity and storytelling in a digital world and how to build deeper sustainable, value-based relationships amongst other similar topics. Through one-to-one coaching, I work with my clients to define and reach their goals quicker than they would on their own. Together we break these goals into small manageable and practical tasks. I help them to help them nurture their passions as a new breed of creatives, philosophers, hackers, innovators and doers to transform their lives and their businesses.
The Friday Club London is a non-profit ‘events’ company set up to help drive meaningful connections between London’s most disruptive start-ups and key leaders of innovation within the marketing/media space. As a futurist, I explore the technology landscape and curate events around emerging and new technologies to drive innovation within and across the media and communications industry.
