Projects
- Digital Split Flap Display for The Moxy Hotel NYI was approached in early 2017 with a brief to create a digital split flap display for a new hotel that was being built in New York, Times Square. The hotel was part of the Marriott group called The Moxy which is part of a chain of trendy new hotels around the world. They wanted a series of large screens either side of the hotel entrance connected together to make one super long display on either wall. The wall displays questions from songs i.e. whats love got to do with it? and changes every 3
- SmartUpFrom March 2016 I have been working as Head of design at SmartUp. SmartUp is a micro learning app that is used to guide startup companies into business by using professional interviews, content and micro learning to achieve faster more officiant learning. The app is also used by large corporations around the world as a means of circulating information. In my time here I was responsible for all design work. - Tinker Taylor Web DesignTinker Taylor are a British production company. They film and produce everything from industry B2B videos, Instructional films, Educational videos too full length film. Led by some of the most highly regarded professionals in the industry Tinker Taylor only deliver the highest quality productions. Tinker Taylor came to me for help in redesigning their online presents to be constant with their new brand guidelines. I wanted to use their three primary colours, orange, grey and cream to keep the site simple and clean. This was due to the large amount of visual stimuli that needed to be shown. There was a lot of information that was required on the site but the simplicity complimented this and created an equal balance across the site. Link: http://tinkertaylor.tv/
- Film4 Brandopus Uni BriefLive university brief from Brandopus. The logo is lady justice (from the old bailey) being sprayed on with imbalanced weights and a cut sword to portray the symbol meaning the opposite to being fair and just. It is also a reference to one of the films in the film festival, V for Vendetta. I used this icon across 3 different mediums. A poster, ticket and advert. The idea behind it is for the symbol to be sprayed and displayed around London and on TV and for more and more information about it the closer it gets to the time of the event. I wanted to create a feel of a group of underground rebels in the future. Both the tickets and poster were created using a home made rust solution onto metal. The idea was to echo a society being controlled by controlling something natural into doing something perfect.
- BennyCentralBen Perkin aka BennyCentral is a world famous online gamer. Ben currently has just over 80,000 subscribers on YouTube and is sponsored by numerous gaming related companies. Ben came to me in need of more of an online presence and brand. For this project I had to create a logo, social network banners and profile pictures,Intro video (created in cinema 4D and AfterEffects) and screen sponsor overlays. The main task was to create a thumbnail design for youtube that stood out from all the other videos. By using the white space I broke the rules of thumbnail designs which allowed the thumbnail to become another shape. These are currently the only thumbnails that have this appearance
- Badger AleLive brief from Brandopus to create a new ale for Dorset based ale brewery Badger ale. The brief was to create a design based on the theme of creatures of Dorset. I discovered there is a large population of adders in Dorset so started to design using the adder as my theme. The colours and illustrations are bold, clean and simple to compliment the natural yet complex nature of the wooden box complete with laser engraving and artificial grass for the bottle to lay on as a symbolisation of the adder itself.

SmartUp is a micro learning app originally designed to help and guide startup businesses, over the past year it has moulded into a platform for large corporates to circulate training and content to large teams spread around the world. When I joined in the spring I was the 8th member, just over a year later we employ 48 people. This extremely rapid growth has been a steep learning curve but a fantastic chance to learn about all aspects of a business. I have gone from a junior designer to head of design, managing teams of designers and front end developers across the world in less than a year.
I am in of all design aspects but as a priority I focus on the product

Over the past 7 years I have been working with numerous companies as a freelancer. My most recent project was creating two 50ft interactive screens for the entrance of the new Moxy Hotel in Times Square. This was a fantastic project that combined coding, illustration and 3D design. I had the chance to work with some amazing people and take my work to New York.
