About me

Adithio is a Documentary Photographer and Filmmaker based in London. Whilst specialising in documentary, travel and portraiture, Adithio was previously based in Indonesia, contributing his work to the Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA). He has uncovered and documented the dog meat trade, illegal wildlife trade, and dog-fighting rings while promoting the preservation of Bali’s indigenous dogs. While in the archipelago, Adithio also collaborated with Engage Media to help run participatory film workshop ‘Papuan Voices’ in West Papua, teaching film and photography to Papuan activists. Along with a Master’s degree in Screen Documentary from Goldsmiths: University of London, Adithio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Performance Design and Practice from Central Saint Martins: University of the Arts London. His previous clients include brands such as Timothy Oulton, musicians such as Fleur East and organisations such as Humane Society International, Change for Animals Foundation, International Fund for Animal Welfare and Solemen Indonesia. Coming from a diverse background, Adithio has Italian and Indonesian parentage and outside the hustle, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs as well as traveling the globe while playing the ukulele.

  Aku dan Anjing BalikuA series of photographs of the Balinese people and their beloved Bali dogs during a time of government culling and dog meat trade that threatens the animals. Photographs were showcased and donated for auction to the Bali Animal Welfare Association
• Sanggar SarakA series of portraits of Sanggar Sarak, a West Papuan tribal band hailing from Raja Ampat.
• Papuan VoicesCollaboration with Engage Media to co-facilitate film making projects in Sorong, West Papua, called Papuan Voices, a video advocacy initiative working with Papuan activists to more effectively tell their stories to the world.
• Becoming Airlie"Becoming Airlie" is a short documentary centring around how Airlie personally came to terms with gender transformation during a death of a loved one.
• DariusA short documentary on a study of Darius, a musician with Vitiligo. This film has been published on BBC Fresh "Life Through My Lens".
• A Thousand Temples, A Thousand DogsA short personal documentary focusing on the spiritual aspects and beliefs in the Bali Heritage Dog conflicted by the Dog Meat Trade in Bali, Indonesia.
