I am a womenswear designer, textile print driven. I enjoy working on CAD and transferring my designs onto fabrics, which I then manipulate further.
My work is very detailed and I tend to showcase the design detail through surface pattern. Working confidently creating graphical prints, laser cutting techniques, devore…
I believe one can be inspired by anything; I mainly find inspiration through travel and architecture.
‘Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you see can inspire you.’ – Grace Coddington

- Graduate Collection Fashion Show - Ahroob JabbarThe Graduate Collection; Indomitable by Ahroob Jabbar, is inspired by Greek Mythology and Tae-kwon-do. As a first degree Black Belt in Tae-kwon-do, there is a very personal link with this martial art movement. The wrap silhouettes which have been created, were directly inspired by the Tae-kwon-do Dobok. The ribbed detailing on the belt itself has been reflected through the use of Corduroy fabrics. Greek Mythology has always been of interest due to the mystical themes and creatures, therefore the focus of this collection is Pegasus. In particular, the wings of Pegasus. Interpretations of wings have been designed and further transferred onto the fabrics through laser cutting and devore. The Graduate Collection was showcased at The Bradford School of Art. http://www.ahroobjabbar.com/2017/09/28/graduate-show-indomitable-by-ahroob-jabbar/
