About me
Ceramicist by formation and set designer by curiosity, stemming from her Argentinian and Chilean identity, develops a practice through ceramics and environments inspired by Pre-Columbian art, a reimagination of natural elements of the Andes and South America and research and technology as a tool to develop vernacular and traditional narratives. Her practice is more than earth and fire, seeking to engage and transport the audience to other realities through virtual reality, 3D modelling and motion.

10.000-30"10.000-30" is a research installation exploring daily life in Tierra del Fuego during the end of the 19th Century, acknowledging its complex history from a Chilean-Argentinian perspective. It follows Alessandra's journey from studying quotidian native practices to confronting settler colonialism and genocide in this region. Artist in residence working with ceramics, 3D printing/modelling/scanning and editorial, following and developing a project within the topic of Co-Ecologies and the Anthropocene. I researched the loss of ecological practises, land and settler colonialism in Tierra del Fuego, an island located to the extreme south of Argentina and Chile. I developed 6 ceramic pieces, hand built with coils with a black grogged clay, and displayed them as an installation with sound, 6 publications and a video mimicking an archaeological site. My exhibition explored the limits of historical and anthropological narratives where reality and fiction merges.
