I use film, photography, text and music to create content and tell stories. I am a Filmmaker, Journalist and Copywriter with an MA (Merit) in Documentary Film from the University of the Arts London and a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Journalism from the University of Leeds. I'm currently working as the Head of Content for KLEEK, a nightlife startup in London. I'm also working as a Communications and Editorial Assistant for the Student Enterprise and Employability department of University of the Arts London (UAL) and as a Social Media Officer for UAL Commonplace. I've worked as a Journalist with articles published in national and regional press. I have also freelanced as a Copywriter for a range of clients. I have a made a number of short documentaries. I can shoot, edit and direct independently and as part of a crew. I use my journalistic skills to find a story and my filmmaking nuance to visualise and carve out a narrative. I want to work creatively to produce content using different media.
I primarily direct, film and edit documentaries. My most recent work is a documentary called, Collective Bargaining by Riot. The film explores modern techno-political issues through Luddism in the 1800s and Neo-Luddism now. I've also produced documentary style videos for charities such as Football Beyond Borders.
The role involved writing and editing copy and producing social media for the Student Enterprise and Employability (SEE) department of University of the Arts London. I worked closely with SEE to plan and implement social media strategies for Artsmart 2015 creative industry careers festival.
I managed the Commonplace blog and social media accounts in order to increase student engagement with Commonplace. I produced a weekly post and administrated other people's posts, occasionally sub-editing content to ensure it was appropriate for publication. I also produced copy for other Commonplace projects such as the Student Guide to Elephant and Castle.
After 3 months working as a Journalist for KLEEK I became their Head of Content. I managed the blog by planning and producing posts and implementing social media marketing strategies on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I tracked website and social media metrics using analytics software to produce weekly reports. I was responsible for producing and overseeing copy for the app, emails and marketing purposes to ensure that all content is on brand.
KLEEK is a table booking app for nightclubs, lounges, pop ups and events. I was brought to the team to create the KLEEK blog, a nightlife orientated blog featuring posts about music, nightlife news, travel, fashion and interviews with nightlife personas, chefs, musicians and DJs in order to engage with KLEEK's market. I created and implemented a content strategy to communicate the brand effectively and consistently through copy, the blog and social media.
