About me
Hi My name is Alex kisby, I am a MA film graduate from the university for the creative arts, I also have a BA in Animation. During my time at university I wrote and directed my own short film; Waitology the science of waiting, a comedy parody of educational reels and produced another; The Legend Of Curt Runaway an action-comedy that shares a similar theme to the Goonies. Waitology has now been in several different film festivals and was a finalist in the July 21 edition of the Red movie awards and the film's trailer was nominated as part of TMFF. The film also won an award for best directing from movie toast the festival 2021. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience about film production from working on these projects The latter of which involved location managing, organising travel and obtaining a child acting licence. I have also provided storyboards for several short films and animations. One of the short animated films I supplied storyboards for was the Sappho Project: Fragment 147. The film has also been in several different film festivals and even won the audience choice award at the EFN festival 21. Outside of my work with film, I also write and draw my own series of online comic strips. and take experimental photography with a Gameboy camera. These side projects allow me to explore new creative avenues and try out different ideas. Check out my Instagram, which I feel gives an excellent introduction to my creative approach. https://www.instagram.com/alexkisbyfilms/
