About me
I am an emerging Illustrator from Preston, Lancashire. I have recently graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree in Illustration at the University of Huddersfield.
I have a fascination for the design industry and enjoy being involved in concepts for creative projects and collaborating with other creatives. I am also interested in marketing, writing briefs and concept development.
I am a hard-working individual with an excellent work ethic and I am always willing to experience new opportunities.
I am currently intending to make new connections and begin my career in the design industry as an Illustrator.

- Playboy X National Youth Theatre (2022)This creative brief was written in response to my final year dissertation for my term 2 project. PLAYBOY The iconic Playboy bunny branding was designed by Arthur Paul. Since it’s conception in 1953, the bunny iconography has had a measurable cultural impact. Playboy has formed a strong brand identity and has achieved design icon status, with the bunny iconography staying the same since its conception. This has shown the longevity of the Playboy branding. - Etsy Powered by People Campaign (2021)This creative brief was written for my Term 1 final year brief at The University of Huddersfield, 'Supporting Small Businesses'. Etsy is a global marketplace for unique goods. Etsy’s mission is to keep a human connection at the heart of commerce. The platform is ‘Powered by People’ and is a place where creativity thrives. During my Enterprise Placement Year, I started up my own business called 'Al Illustrates', freelance Illustrating. This was an excellent opportunity for me to develop entrepreneurial skills and experience what it takes to run my own business.
I found value in this placement year compared to a conventional one as as I learnt about the business side of freelance illustrating such as: marketing myself, making connections, how to interact with clients and building a brand that is personal to me.
At the end of this placement year, I received a commendation for the best 'written reflective report' of the year.
