About me
Amy Tibbles is a playful illustrator blurring the line between illustration and 2D animation. Her dynamic use of colour and shape fills even her static compositions with the illusion of movement. She injects humour into her characters through exaggerated movements and unexpected narrative details. These characterful illustrations are the driving force behind Amy’s work, allowing her to explore different forms and mediums in order to maintain fluidity between still and moving image. Her bright and bold colour palette can often be contrasted next to her atmospheric night time scenes, which mysteriously hint towards subtle narratives. This contrast offers a fresh and distinctive style which is brought to life using mixed hand-drawn media. These are then developed digitally to add more depth and often here movement is added. By keeping the process at the forefront of all her work, her techniques are celebrated through the layers of texture that remain in the final artwork.
