About me
I'm a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator, with a big passion for making information easy to digest and engaging via the use of visual communication, storytelling and user experience principles. My approach to digital design encompasses awareness of inclusivity and accessibility, including universal design and digital accessibility principles. My key area of specialisation for the past decade has been in the field of visual science communication and educational design, including learning experience design and development, as well as content creation such as infographics and other data visualisation graphics. Storytelling is a powerful vehicle of communication, and I love to find ways to use it in my practice both as a designer and illustrator, especially when it comes to highlighting important messages in the areas of education, science, arts & culture.
Projects
  • Cultural Competency at King's College London
Cultural Competency at King's College LondonIllustrations created for a cultural competency campaign for King’s College London. These were used as interface graphics across the campaign's webpages, and I further developed more illustrations for an animated video.
  • NCVO's UK Civil Society Almanac: Animation project
NCVO's UK Civil Society Almanac: Animation projectThis animation was part of a commission by NCVO with the aim to illustrate the information in their almanac, taking a fun and engaging approach. I converted their annual figures into highly visual graphics in a way that would capture their data accurately while simultaneously engaging the audience with colourful and bold illustrations.
  • One of a Kind: Packaging Illustration project
One of a Kind: Packaging Illustration projectInspired by the 'waste not, want not' movement, this self-directed project had the aim to create a fun and colourful look & feel for the packaging design of an imaginary brand of juices called 'One of a Kind'. The key concept behind the brand is that it uses wonky fruit and veggies to avoid these being wasted. The idea for the character art came mostly from the amazing shapes that wonky fruit and vegetables innately have. This is a personal project created as an entry for the World Illustration
