I am Andreea Dobrin Dinu, illustrator and graphic artist working in my Hamburg studio SUMMERKID, producing bright works inspired by everyday life, spontaneous sketches and a certain joie de vivre that only a kid knows in summer vacation. It’s a “one-woman-show” boutique studio where I handle multidisciplinary projects with a strong focus on illustration. My work is mainly conceptual with a story feel, it dances playfully around serious or less serious subjects at the intersection of lifestyle, relationships, living spaces and what not. I keep the visual language open to both the adult and the children sector. Future plans include a self started publishing project around the importance of illustration in the current entrepreneurial renaissance that inspires more and more people to create their own products, enriching my list of editorial illustration pieces and author graphics projects.
- Süddeutsche Zeitung Familie 2017"Brumilla and the Horror Festival" is a short story that appeared in the double booklet magazine Süddeutsche Zeitung Familie, a magazine for both parents and children. It speaks of a teenage witch who is allergic to frogs and that's a big problem for her. She needs to drink an invisibility potion to go to a Horror Festival where she would otherwise be in great danger. Being that the secret ingredient to the invisibility potion is frog saliva she is in a bit of a jam. She gets an out of the box idea and tries to replace the ingredient with cat saliva. She brews the potion with her mom and gives it a try. The unexpected result is that instead of becoming invisible she becomes...a big scary monster...and that's all right as well.
- Art Safari 2017For the edition of 2017, Art Safari, the largest art fair in Romania, trusted me with the visual communication. The insight on this project was that designing for art fairs assumes a very diverse target audience : from random visitors to passionate art lovers and collectors, professional galleries and practicing artists alike. The series of illustrations created are whimsical and strive to encompass all these diverse aspects of human-art interaction. The project is a World Illustration Awards 2018 winner, Advertising category, New Talent. The WIA2018 was delivered by The Association of Illustrators in partnership with the USA-based Directory of Illustration. The World Illustration Awards promotes exceptional work by illustrators and presents illustration as a major force in global visual culture.
- MesterealaIllustrations for author/architect Mihai Dutescu's little booklet of childhood memories "Mesterela". Part of the "Building Blocks" project 2016, the piece accompanied a wonderful innitiative of having kids sketch up their dream home and some architects actually building it, just for their fun.

My work is aimed at manufacturing the best visual story for both corporate and cultural products and get involved only if the creators behind it can meet the same high level of enthusiasm as I do everyday practicing this beautiful profession.
I am also an exhibiting artist and have been lucky enough to work on some purely artistic projects alongside various curators resulting in a series of solo or group shows in Bucharest, Paris and Hague.
