Andrés is an architect (ETSA Barcelona) and designer from Barcelona. After living and working in Buenos Aires and Venice he settled in London, where he’s been living for 7 years. He works on a freelance basis and is a teacher at the Retail Design Master at ELISAVA school in Barcelona. A maker at heart, he is a self taught textile designer.
Andrés worked as architect for the Swedish brand COS for 5 years, completing more than 25 international projects, including flagship stores in New York, Tokyo, Zurich and London. As an architect for a fashion brand, he navigated many scales of design: from furniture to textile, product or pop up design. During his time at COS, he was the sustainability manager for interior design, developing sustainable design projects internally and with the Royal College of Arts, applying his knowledge on circular design. For his role, he was trained on circular economy by the Ellen Macarthur foundation.
Following his work for COS, Andrés established himself as a freelance architect and designer, working with private clients as well as supporting other studios, like Faye Toogood for the design of the new store concept for Mulberry, the spatial design studio Isabel+Hellen or food artist Inês Neto dos Santos. His latest project is the design of the co-working space ARC club in Homerton in collaboration with architect Caro Lundin. His most long lasting collaboration has been with Cecilia González from FARO studio, finding a great partner on her to share their visions on space and light.
Andrés’ work is inspired by precise gestures, repetitions and variations of the same element to achieve a cohesive yet surprising interior space experience. His multidisciplinary practice is always rooted in a conscious approach to materials, durability and aesthetic, with the prevailing idea that there are no good projects without a good collaboration.
Projects
- ARC ClubArc club is a neighbourhood co-working space in east London with a design led ethos. Occupying the ground-floor of a new build, offers a variety of spaces to work and network, from canteen to quiet area, including sharing tables and meeting rooms. A Scandinavian influenced space, the space offers high quality design and finishes that are timeless and fun. Andrés has worked on this project led by Architect and co-founder of Arc Club Caro Lundin. All pictures by Andrew Meredith
- AfterlightAfterlight is an artistic collaboration between a lighting designer, a photographer and an architect, the role of each blurred in the process and blended in the final outcome. The medium binding their expertise might look like a picture, but is the process and synergies into creating this images what drives them. A project that is born with the intention of reusing materials of previous installations. Afterlight is an exploration of the material’s properties and its capacity to suggest function
- Scott’s X Christopher KaneThe lighting designer Cecila González Barragán gave me the opportunity to work for her on this light installation for Scott’s Mayfair. Creatively directed by Christopher Kane, this installation is an explosion of colour, turning the terrace of this well-known restaurant of Mayfair into a colourful neon rain for the festive season.

Since 2018, I worked in several collaborations with the lighting designer Cecilia González Barragán. Working for clients like Scott's Mayfair, Christopher Kane, Nicholas Kirkwood, Prada or Hermes, I collaborated with her in several aspects of the design and execution of lighting installations for events, showrooms or special projects. This is a side project that I coordinate with my job as an architect and interior designer.
