About me
I live and have studied arts in London, where I focused on sound and moving image, and my creative work is very much a mix of both. I got into electronic music making in the early 1990s, and have grown creatively alongside many progressions and developments. I began exploring possibilities with video, and hold onto interests on how sound and image can be connected. This is an ongoing journey for me, that is latterly bringing in therapeutic perspectives, and is also in constant revision. I am hoping to bring some of my experience and expertise towards collaborative projects, as well as developing my skills. I also think and reflect about digital art widely, and would like to pursue this further academically, with an interest in this informing my creative work. I hold a wondrous outlook on the possibilities with audiovisual media, and would love to connect with like minded or spirited others'...
Projects
- Seven Days and Seven ColoursA work examining my own relationship to electronic music composition and culture. A journey from isolation into social inclusion, finding ones true self amongst others on the dance floor, and subsequent findings and outcomes with mental health. The first proper composition I made is brought to a later time, where I am using the final work I have composed to set the scene of intensity of a rave that, I hope to describe visually. These are the parameters for an implied dialogue about a life journe
- Electro StorySome thoughts I have been having around the potentials of computer modelling, which in a serendipitous way came to form the visual element of this audiovisual work. I am interested in the perception of the natural world, and how human sense and perception, moulds itself around the digital, which I think of as being psychedelic. Sonically I feel there is movement towards a timelessness in electronic music, and says something about rhythms that were the initial friction between man and machine, in
- Visions in FluxA piece of music I composed a few years ago that was part of a series of audiovisual sketches looking at the connections with sound and image. In this instance I have tried to match visual movement to the harmonics and rhythm of the music. I am latterly reflecting about post clubbing experiences where nocturnal body movement leaves an impression within the mind, and is suggestive of reaching spiritual realms through the practice of trance dancing.
