About me
Hey, I’m currently a Digital Product Architect at Changing Health where I help to design and build health care educational programmes for both private companies and the NHS. I love solving challenging problems through simple design – passionate about creating useful, stylish and easy-to-use products that add value to people’s lives. I graduated from Teesside University in 2015 with a 2:1 in Graphic Design, since then I have worked at a number of internships before joining Changing Health. When I’m not designing I’m usually reading, walking my dogs or listening to music.
Projects
  • The Metamorphosis
The MetamorphosisThe Metamorphosis is a book written by Franz Kafka in 1915. The book tells the story of Gregor Samsa a travelling sales man, who wakes up one morning to find him self transformed into a gigantic insect. For the brief I was set the task of creating an experimental motion design to depict part of the story. The part of the story which was chosen was the part where Gregor Samsa was transformed in his bed into the insect. My experimental video attempts to show this transformation by using imagery
  • Divide
DivideDivide is a film festival held in the heart of London, the event aims to celebrate the North East of England as a prime area to set a film. The logo looks into the North/South divide which effectively cuts the country into two parts, this has been shown in the use of the cut within the logo.
  • Just because co2 is invisible its effects aren't
Just because co2 is invisible its effects aren'tThis project focused in the effects on climate change by using facts, these facts where then designed to be projected onto the side of buildings and public spaces so that the general public will be able to see them. The idea of using projection was to have very little impact on the area where they would be shown. The typography played a vital part in the project and chosen the correct font was very important, since most of our carbon output is from large industry I wanted to show this by using a font that feels very “industrialised”, because of this I used the font Rockwell. The main numbers in the facts where placed in red so that they would stand out from the rest of the written.
  • Under the Sea
Under the SeaThis project focused on the word “consume”, for this I looked into what we consume from the oceans, my final piece of work was designed to be an infographic publication for the Guardian newspaper which shows facts such as the number of animals killed per year.
  • Quick Guide
Quick GuideThis project was for a competition held at Teesside University. The competition involved creating a leaflet for the universities Quick Guide redesign, for this I worked in a group of four other students. My contribution to the group was the layout of the leaflet. For the competition we came in second place.
  • Self Promotion (Old)
Self Promotion (Old)For this project I was set the task of creating a self promotion pack, this included a CV, cover letter, logo, and envelope to be designed. My logo features the letter “A” which has been cut in half, the idea behind this was to show that I am incomplete as a designer as I am still studying at university.
