Creating, delegating and commissioning exceptional content that drives audience growth and reader engagement across all lifestyle verticals.
Collaborating with the marketing team to maximise distribution and effectiveness of content.
Managing the local Deputy Editor and Staff Writer.
Setting benchmarks and processes for maintaining quality, integrity, timeliness, and authenticity.
Establishing and managing monthly budgets, traffic and engagement targets; analysing variances and providing insights to The Urban List team.
Working closely with team members across all cities to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient leveraging of content.
Proactively utilising analytics to report trends to the wider content team and ensuring all content is informed by, and aligned with, audience insights, pivoting and being agile with all creative ideas.
Deputy Editor | July 2017 – July 2018
Developing content in a multi-channel approach, including on-site editorial, sharable social media, B2C eNewsletters, and mobile-first video.
Commissioning and editing editorial content across all lifestyle verticals from a pool of contributors and managing a team of freelance photographers and videographers.
Managing the homepage to ensure all content is aligned with current holidays, events and trends.
Leading the business' SEO strategy for the Sydney site, ensuring every article published is adhering to SEO best practice, and tracking any increase in Google traffic as a result.
Developing the group's Instagram and Instagram story strategy, working with the design team to develop a style guide. Between July 2017 and July 2018, while managing the Instagram account, I grew The Urban List Sydney following by 160%, from 90,000 to 145,000.
Working with the editor to build our monthly on-site unique audience from 503K to 566K unique readers since September 2016 in Sydney alone.
Proactively utilising analytics to report trends to the wider content team and ensuring all content is informed by, and aligned with, audience insights, pivoting and evolving ideas when necessary.
Monitoring industry trends and performing daily competitor analysis to ensure The Urban List is creating best-of-breed content consistently.
Proficiency in systems including CMS, eMarketing, Google Analytics, and project management platforms as well as the Google Documents Suite, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Photoshop.
Supporting the sales team to identify potential business development opportunities and create an innovative content marketing strategy to support campaigns for clients.
