- Poster Series – Probational lectures at the University of BielefeldThe poster campaign increased the attention for the probitional lectures at the University of Applied Science in Bielefeld. Candidates for the proffessorship in „Drawing and Illustration“ had to present their didactical and creative skills by presenting their own work in front of the students from the design department. Afterwards the students had the opportunity to evaluate the work and teaching methods of each candidate. The illustrations for the posters are adapted from a sports book for Indian club training. This textbook instruction from the 19th century represents in an ironical approach the expectations of students and staff.
- The story “Alices Adventures in Wonderland” written by Lewis CarrolThe front cover shows one of the most significant characters of Lewis Carroll’s tale: the white rabbit with the pocket-watch, who leads Alice to the magical Wonderland. As he accompanies her through out her crazy adventure, they encounter the many colourful characters as they go.
- Three models of memory in their context of media–historical development.Beginning with the natural processes of human memories, the thesis analyses the cultural development to the contemporary information age. Researching the kind of ways human kind deliver information and how the original cognitive abilities been expanded with technological inventions. All three models presenting mnemonic strategies, using strong topographical and visual methods. The first model was developed in the Renaissance and was specified as an theatre of memory. The analog model is the precursor for nowadays structures of interactive user-experiences, because it is based on strong topographical and visual methods. The digital “Spatial-Data-Management-System” is the second memory model. It was developed in the Sixties by a team of scientests at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and presents the first steps of the computer technology. The layout of the thesis also presents a topographical approach, while references and pictorial material are set according to the content of the main text.
