My name is Asha Mohamud and I am someone who is interested in many aspects of the creative world.
I think that I am perfect to be a part of the team as I have a keen eye for precision, design and also detail. I like to make sure that all my work is presented at the best quality and also beautifully. I am very ambitious and enjoy tackling various challenges that are given to me and work alongside my colleagues to get these tasks completed. I like to make sure that I approach any task that is given to me with an open, fun and creative mind.
As a Graphic Designer, I try to keep up to date with all the various new trends and incorporate them into my own design work, especially in a role such as this, I can see that it would require me to be on top of what is currently trending and use that knowledge to help the company stand out. I am also efficient with using a majority of the Adobe Creative Suite, the strongest software’s for me being Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
My master’s degree has taught me that there are so many ways to be able to communicate to the vast public and that it also depends on what type of message it is that you want to be able to send out. Being able to communicate the right message can be seen as a problem, so I have been using my problem-solving skills, and incorporating that with design, to try and overcome those barriers and create a visual answer. I think that I will be able to bring forth the desired skills that I have learnt while on my master’s course and use them in the best ways possible to benefit the company and also use what I learn from my colleagues around me.

Projects
- D&AD New blood Awards WWFThis project was for the D&AD New Blood Awards. I chose the brief for WWF which was about creating a campaign directed at 16-24 year olds. I made this project into a campaign by creating a biodegradable pencil which was infused with seeds that you could plant. I also created a plant farm which would be a place you could go to plant your pencil and even check the progress of your tree online. I enjoyed this project very much as I was able to create an animation and also create essentially create a brand.
- A walk to UniversityThis is a piece of work I had done while in China. My project compares the cities of Coventry and Changsha through visual exploration of key architectural landmarks and the everyday sounds one experiences when walking amongst them. Though the visuals are descriptive, the audio creates rich and colourful pictures in the listener's mind. My work was also featured in an article in China. I think that this was a great opportunity to showcase myself as a designer in a place other than the UK.
- Founch: Typography ProjectThis project was about creating a type specimen in a different and creative way. I wanted to create a specimen that was out there and easily accessible to the general public but also targeting designers. I chose to create a typography lunch meal named Founch which was the words font and lunch combined. The lunch package included a sandwich, called a Typewich, and a water bottle named AquaType. I used the 2 fonts, Agmena and Trade Gothic Next, to create images out of the typeface. I wanted to send the message that type are images.
