- AdonisThis project is a personal series of photographs exploring the modern concerns of body representation giving reference to Greek mythology. Ancient mythology has interested me for many years, and has done because I believe the stories have always been prevalent in art and are still being used to explain even the most modern concerns, and although they are fictional, they are still of value in our contemporary society. This body of work has largely taken inspiration from the story of Adonis. Adoni
- Aphrodisia'Aphrodisia', is a series of photographs exploring the sexual interpretation of objects. In this case, aphrodisiacs. An aphrodisiac is essentially a substance that arouses a persons sexual appetite, through ingestion or inhalation. The word itself is a reference to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. Interestingly, the effects of certain aphrodisiacs have been supported, but scientific research, whilst others still remain a figment of the imagination. The relationship between the object and sex is an intriguing one, as the interpration we give to a seemingly idle object then becomes the carrier of that meaning; be that real or imaginary.
