About me

I'm Ásta a Graphic Design graduate from the Arts University Bournemouth I'm from Iceland originally but have lived and studied in different cities across Europe and the U.S. I enjoy designing things for a purpose and am interested in sustainability and creating a sense of community.   Vegan appThe Vegin app is a project I did in Collaboration with Janaki Chengalath. Our aim was to connect new vegans with each other and further encourage people to buy more environmentally friendly products. The app includes a meal hosting option where users can either hosts meals themselves or attend a meal being hosted nearby. By hosting or attending meals users collect "Green points" which they can then use to purchase products from in the shop option.
• Exhibition brochureThis was a brochure I did for an ongoing exhibition on Bibles. The brochure is an informational guide which guests receive as they enter the exhibition.
• Green thinkingThe project aims to create an environmentally friendly solidarity between people. By answering a series of questions about your lifestyle and habits the website generates a plant for you. The plant size depends on how environmentally friendly the user's lifestyle is and the user is able to see it grow alongside each question he/she answers.  After answering the questions the option of planting your plant on a map is available where the user puts in his/her postcode. The user can then see how environmentally friendly his/her neighbours are and hopefully not only feel encouraged to do better but feel like he his not alone. Finally the website offers you tips to do even better
