About me
Babak Mirsalari is an Iranian sound designer and composer based in the North of England. Well versed in multiple styles of music, he ventures into the sound design realm with over two decades of compositional and performance practice. He has worked on many solo projects in a variety of genres including contemporary jazz, electronic, world fusion, post rock, film scores, experimental ambient with a hint of quarter tonal phrases that has become a unique signature in his late works. In recent years, Babak has composed music for independent projects and institutions such as ICA and Tate. One of his collaborations, which was composing music for a short animation, was aired on BBC4, as part of a programme called 'Get Animated! BBC Introducing Arts' in April 2020. Other works include: composer and sound designer for 'staff of life' a short film that is available on BBC iplayer. Sound designer/composer for 'Ground Up' an audio drama aired on BBC 6 Music in January 2021 (Available on Wireless Theatre platform).

    Fabric of soundThe Fabric of Sound is an immersive audio documentary that explores synesthesia through the personal experiences of three individuals. Edited into one interweaving narrative, it paints an intimate portrait of their everyday perceptions.
