Carla is a freelance international creative director whose career spans both sides of the Atlantic. Since 2007 she’s developed award-winning campaigns, products, and experiences for some of the world’s most iconic brands. Her advertising roots are in New York, where she worked at Y&R, FutureBrand, R/GA, and Johannes Leonardo before heading across the pond. In London, Carla’s work took her all over Europe and to the Middle East. At AKQA she was a creative lead on Infiniti, Marks & Spencer, and Coutts before moving onto Nike as an Associate Creative Director to run the Global Training, Western Europe, and Emerging Markets teams. At R/GA she led Nike projects focused on disrupting the training landscape and women’s category across the region – from the CrossFit Regionals in Madrid to the French Open and the Middle East, where sports have traditionally been off-limits for girls. As Creative Director at VICE France she led and won a pitch for a new content series with Hennessy. And at BETC she launched a global anti-bullying campaign for Rimmel London featuring Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora, and real victims brave enough to share their stories. Carla is well-versed in bringing ideas to life in all formats and is most excited by projects that go beyond advertising to create meaningful services. Her work has been recognized by Cannes, One Show, AICP, the Clios, Andys, OBIEs, and Webbys. With entrepreneurism in her DNA, she consults for small businesses and plans to start her own someday. Carla took full advantage of living in Europe and was rarely in one place for long. A Midwest native, she's since left London for Chicago and taken time in between to "pretire" and travel the world. Her most memorable experience? Cycling 1,246 miles through Germany, Switzerland, and France.
