Carla Benzing is a german artist and curator based in London. Since 2018 she is Co-Director of the experimental gallery space BLANK100, focusing on supporting emerging artists. Fascinated by humans relationship is developing towards new technologies, she recently focused her own practice and research on the artistic politics of the drone.

- Direction and Production of Tanya Ling - "We have Life"We spend the day with artist Tanya Ling in her warehouse studio in Wimbledon as she prepares for her solo show “We Have Life”, an exhibition that responds to exist in this moment. Having previously worked as a fashion illustrator has had a profound effect on the shaping of Tanya Ling’s artistic career, describing it as “something that, almost like a thief in the night, came, and happened”. Pioneer in displaying her work on social media in the form of a visual puzzle, Ling explains her upbringing, her use of colour and composition, and why she feels the responsibility to constantly make work. - Artistic Politics of the DroneResearch and Arts Project The shape reminds of a little spaceship, the sound feels uncanny—like a swarm of bees. Its movement seems beautifully shy and aggressive at the same time and its cyborg-like nature seems somehow human. When looking up the word “drone” one reads about recent collisions with planes and the horrific reality of drone strikes. But drones also provide new forms for artistic expression and journalistic investigation. Drawn by both the threatening and beautiful aspects of these new technologies, I am trying to further explore our relationship with drones through my arts practice but also through a theoretical approach.
