I was responsible for providing excellent customer service; this required me to have in-depth knowledge of core products as well as the ability to close sales for customers in need of guidance. A few months before leaving I was promoted to the role of senior level customer advisor and thus responsible for counting and managing the tills, as well as training new members of staff and at times having control of the shop floor.
During the summer of my final year at college, I had the privilege of working with a social enterprise known as Beyond the classroom as a performance mentor. Along with a group of peers we were able to create original pieces of drama, music and dance -which we then went onto tour at different schools and youth clubs in the southeast London area. This experience was paramount in helping me learn how to creatively touch upon sensitive issues through art and pushed me to develop my confidence as a performer and mentor. As a result I was presented with the award for community work.
