About me

Fashion designer Charlotte Lewis undertook her foundation course at the Arts University Bournemouth and went on to graduate from the Manchester School of Art with a Fashion BA in 2014. She has since released 2 collections. Sisterhood is Powerful drew inspiration from 1970s erotica, bedroom interiors and the feminist movement, creating a chintzy and girly collection, with a dash of politics. Her designs heavily feature collaged digital print and embroidery and have been described as 'fun, playful and unabashedly girly'. The second collection - Moon Sisters - was inspired by the 1950’s B-movie ‘Queen of Outerspace’ and questions gender roles and whether systems of oppression are symptomatic of gender roles or humanity as a whole. It also references the work of pop artist Robert Rauschenburg and 1970s street style. Charlotte Lewis' pieces have been featured at Graduate Fashion Week, in Nick Knight's fashion film 'Girly' as well as numerous publications including Garage,, Polyester, Rookie, The Huffington Post, Noctis, Baby G, Vice and Ballad of...
