About me
In 1995, first grade teacher, Mrs Jenny Brunt, awarded Chesney with the marvellous writing prize. And just like that, a lifelong penchant for storytelling was born. 23 years later, Chesney is still telling stories – but this time she's writing for brands, both local and international alike. Working across all platforms including traditional media, as well as digital, Chesney has been lucky enough to spend five years in the company of some of Australia’s most talented creatives at BD Network Melbourne, and then McCann. In the process, she has created some things that she's, of course, immensely proud of. Chesney’s work has been recognised for both creativity and effectiveness, and in 2015, she was given the remarkable opportunity to tutor eight students as part of the annual ADMA Creative School. This proved to be a valuable lesson for both pupils and tutor, and as part of this, Chesney gained crucial experience in teaching and empowering young creatives. With an absurd (but unobtrusive) obsession with grammar, and a passion for melodious copywriting, Chesney is a true believer in making people's lives just a tiny bit happier, funnier, or more interesting through advertising. Outside of work, she's an almost-obsessive fan of David Attenborough documentaries, an all too ambitious baker, and a drawer of ridiculous doodles. If you think you'd like to know a little more, or perhaps are in need of a crooked croquembouche, please get in touch.

  • Made From Memory
Made From MemoryThe films that screen at MIFF are the kind that move you. The kind that outlive their running time in your memory. The kind that stay with you. To prove this, we chose a fan of the festival to re-create a scene from a film he had seen at MIFF just once, sixteen years before. Working with a team of stylists, set designers and director Stephen McCallum, Keith relied solely on his memory of the film as he brought the ominous scene to life. Remarkably, Keith's rendition was strikingly similar to th
  • Laser or L'Oréal
Laser or L'OréalAustralians now spend more per capita on cosmetic surgery than any other country in the world. But there is an alternative to painful, invasive skin resurfacing procedures – L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser X3. To prove this, we did a side-by-side comparison on one woman's face. On the left half, Kate had a laser skin resurfacing treatment, while on the other, she simply used LOréal Revitalift Laser for four weeks. The results? She couldn't tell the difference. My university degree gave me a solid foundation for the world of advertising, covering not just marketing and the history of ads, but also art history, visual arts and digital design. As a person who often collaborates with Art Directors, as well as Designers and Finished Artists, my background in art has helped to inform my work as both a Copywriter and as a Creative.
