My role involves:
• Coordinating the recruitment and training of 400+ academic representatives (Course Reps, School Presidents, Doctoral Researcher Reps/Lead Reps and Doctoral Researcher Presidents)
• Supporting 25+ School Presidents in their roles to ensure that academic representatives are supported and celebrated, that balanced and representative feedback is gathered and that outcomes are communicated to students
• Working with the Education Executive Officer, academic representatives and staff across Loughborough University and Loughborough University London to ensure that positive impacts are being made to the academic experience and that outcomes are communicated to students
• Tracking the engagement of academic representation volunteers
• Designing and facilitating training and workshops for Course Reps and School Presidents (face-to-face and digital)
• Planning and co-chairing monthly School President meetings alongside the Education Executive Officer
• Communicating with university staff regularly to provide updates on the progress of the representation scheme
• Working closely with the Education Executive Officer to create campaigns to raise awareness of the scheme amongst students
• Working with other sections in the Students’ Union to develop new feedback mechanisms for academic representatives
