- ATLANTIS S/S 18While spending my summer in the island of Santorini in southern Greece I came across a unique and rare rock that is usually found near volcanoes, a pumice rock. The rock is porous and soft which makes it easy to manipulate it in different sizes ad shapes. The discovery of this rock made me look into the past and history of Santorini which led me to one of the myths surrounding the island describing it as the lost city of Atlantis that was destroyed after a volcanic eruption.
