About me
I'm Chris Lloyd a London based Director/animator/illustrator and run YLLW studio. The studio works cross-platform, from TV to Mobile. Bespoke character design to Short Form Content. Social Media campaigns to gifs. Advertising, Editorial, Branding etc... We work in partnership with creative agencies, production partners and often with brands directly, ensuring every piece is of highest quality and delivered to scope. Our goal is always to create beautiful and intelligent work but have fun along the way.

  • Distrupted Data Centers
Distrupted Data CentersIf the combination of simplicity, security, speed, savings, and future-proof cloud data management makes your toes tingle, and wacky card games tickle your fancy, this game* is for you! We worked closely with the team at Rubrik to turn this project around in a short space of time. We created 36 unique playing cards, a how-to-play animation, a rule book, the box art and avoided all disrupted datacenters in the process. We had an absolute blast working on this project and were very happy when R
  • Silly Robots
Silly RobotsSilly Robots, our first studio project, started off as a joke and quickly became a passion project that grew into 50 looping gifs that we shared across our different social media channels daily. We wanted each ‘Silly Robot’ to be different from one another, either in movement or conceptually so we created a set of rules; a strict colour palette, one texture and no more than 4 hours to create each one from start to finish (which we broke only a few times). Each robot started as a sketch, we
  • From A to Z
From A to Z36daysoftype is a collaborative project that invites artists to design a letter or number each day for 36 days straight. This is the second time we’ve taken part and we still can’t quite manage to get past ‘Z’. We wanted to animate the alphabet with a little help from our two rescued cats with brilliantly distinct personalities, Bear and Scout. Joe Basile created a quirky and playful track to accompany the collection, we think it’s purrfect! Enjoy.
  • Labstep
LabstepBetter research and documentation tools from Labstep just might help make discovering that next big scientific breakthrough a little easier. We smashed some atoms together at high speed and created a brand library of illustration assets and scenes that the wonderful folk at Labstep could use across different media platforms.
  • Google SB50
Google SB50The Super Bowl, an explosion of American culture that stops the country in its tracks for the day. There are people who watch the game for the football. But they’re probably outnumbered by those who are just there for the halftime show, the blockbuster ads, or the endless nachos, hotdogs and pizza. Working with the team at RG/A, we helped take Google’s raw data and turn it into cheerful gif animations. We did this for the two weeks of build up before the big game and then we stayed up super lat
