About me
Claudia Gschwend (b. 1991) is a London-based photographer. Claudia moved to London from Switzerland in 2017, to improve her photography skills and benefit from working with various established photographers. Since then she is continuously working on new ideas and projects in London and worldwide. Her series of the Senegalese circus troupe has been selected for the Portrait of Humanity prize 2022 by the British journal of Photography. And exhibited in Melbourne, India and London. The focus of Claudia’s practice is to find that moment of presence with her subject and tell their unique story. • Der Greif Artist Feature
Der Greif Artist FeatureWithout a Mask Just imagine for a second that you too were a flower or a plant. Would you look at your reflection and say my branches should be bigger, my leaves should be greener, or my petals should be brighter? Would you be a Daffodil but aim desperately to be a Rose? Or would you simply be, and trust that you serve whatever purpose you are here for. Evolution is a part of life.  I am not the same person I was a year ago, three years ago, or even yesterday. Embrace change, embrace growth, em

  • Project: New Forms of identities
Project: New Forms of identitiesNew forms of identities is a personal project I’ve started in January 2022. It’s a collaboration between me and Anthropologist Nathalie Pede. We were able to accompany the indigenous community of the “Shanenawa”, based in the Brazilian Amazon.  The project’s focus lies on the transformations of the community practices due to societal and global changes. The influence of modern technology and the globalized world raises questions about their identity.  They are forced to adapt their ways of liv
