Integrate within a design team to bring young, fresh and exciting ideas to the table, which will allow the The Perfume Shop to gain a creative edge over the competition within a high-end business sector. My time at The Perfume Shop has allowed me to push the boundaries of advertising, branding and social media design within a specific sector, whilst gaining a vast understanding of print production throughout, allowing me to take a concept from innovative initial sketches through to production while keeping to well thought out briefs and driving sales. Working for a company with an international presence (A.S Watson) has also given me the skills to be able to work with clients and demands from all over the world in a professional manner and to a strict schedule.
Support a creative team in the process of creating one of the UK’s leading men’s magazines. Throughout my time within the Esquire team, I worked on the design of exciting ideas through editorial concepts and layouts as well as illustration throughout the magazine. This internship within a fast-paced editorial team such as Esquire has allowed me to gain invaluable in-house experience while giving me an extra confidence boost in my ability as a graphic designer.
Design and create a Corporate and Hospitality brochure to advertise the Mary Rose Museum itself as well as showcase the venues and prices they had to offer. Being a high-end company I knew the design had to be stylish and professional, allowing the company to attract the correct target audience. The design for the brochure featured a twist on the modern landscape brochure layout by slightly reducing the format from A4 landscape. This allowed me to keep a stylish look to the piece whilst making it unique amongst others. A professional feel was kept throughout, with a minimal colour palette used, large lettering and focal imagery based on the Mary Rose itself to engage the viewer.
Effectively portray anti-doping throughout a campaign. The creative method was to showcase the connection between the purity of an athlete alongside the natural abilities of the animals of the world. This allowed me to create a series of posters that were visually enhanced with geometric shape, colour and striking imagery alongside a powerful message. The posters themselves were displayed in large format [A1 size] within the Anti - Doping centre of the Olympic village as well as Southampton Solent University concourse gallery.
