    David Allain is a Writer, Director and Producer with a background in Production and Creative Direction. David helped setup RANKIN FILM PRODUCTIONS (RFP) in 2011. Working across advertising, narrative filmmaking, and TV, he wrote, directed and produced projects for clients including O2, BEATS BY DRE, CHANNEL 4 and SKY ARTS. Since leaving RFP in 2016, David has directed work for clients including THE GUARDIAN, LONDON FILM WEEK, and worked extensively in Africa with GIRL EFFECT. Whilst working with GIRL EFFECT, David taught and led teams of scriptwriters in each Rwanda and Malawi to create entertaining radio dramas that engaged audiences whilst also promoting gender equality. Passionate about using film and art to raise awareness around social issues, David has also created artwork for charity auctions for SHELTER and S.P.Y. (tackling homelessness), and written and directed films for SHIFT.MS (on managing multiple sclerosis) and CALM (raising awareness of mental health). His vast experience across content creation range from music videos to documentaries and written editorial pieces for online magazines. He is collaborative and passionate about storytelling. David currently works across a range of projects as a freelance Scriptwriter, Director, and Creative Producer. He has recently worked with THE GUARDIAN and CNN CREATE.

    change for audiences whilst working to promote gender equality and tackle poverty. Utilised previous experience across various media platforms, storytelling, and advertising to help youth brands produce engaging content that lands important messaging. Created narrative formats for various territories and platforms ranging from Radio Drama, Narrative Music Videos, TV Drama, Web Series, Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR), Illustrated books and Comics. Various formats were then prototyped through co-creation with the target audience, and then rolled out for production by teams in different territories. Initially based in London but then working in each Rwanda (on Ni Nyampinga) and Malawi (on Zathu) with teams to launch their youth brands, drama content, and products. Teaching and upskilling scriptwriters in each Rwanda and Malawi: creating learning tools, delivering writing workshops, providing support and ongoing mentorship through the framework of live projects with essential deliverables and hard deadlines. Implementation of brand strategy by creating storylines that raise awareness and dramatise behaviour change around themes including Gender Equality, Domestic Violence, Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, Education, and Economic Empowerment.
