About me
I have recently graduated from Birmingham City University with first class honours, after having studied BSc Interactive Entertainment Digital Marketing, which is a two-year accelerated degree. The work was very intensive but very rewarding and I am currently predicted to graduate with first class honours. Throughout my time at university, I have had numerous opportunities to work on live briefs with many real world clients including Red Bee Media, The Wellcome Trust, AMV BBDO and Virgin Radio. I have pitched and delivered interactive software solutions and integrated marketing campaigns which connected and engaged audiences with popular brands, products and services. One of the most exciting projects I have worked on was a six-month internship with Birmingham City Council, where I helped to develop and deliver branding for a new unemployment initiative, Cog. I am a very driven individual and am always looking for ways to improve myself professionally. My future aim is to use my acquired knowledge and skills within Digital Marketing to begin my career. This will then allow me to start my professional development within a marketing/advertising agency, with the long-term goal of developing the company I work for and the position I am in so that I become a valued member of a dynamic, high-performance team.

  • Smart Energy GB - Behavioural Change Campaign
    Smart Energy GB - Behavioural Change CampaignFor my dissertation, I worked with advertising/marketing agency AMV BBDO to develop a behavioural change campaign for the Smart Energy GB, smart meter rollout. I began by conducting market research into the energy sector to gauge customer attitudes toward energy suppliers and smart meters in order to identify commercial opportunities, ensure ROI and meet the marketing objectives set out by the client.
  • Cog Youth unemployment Initiative Birmingham
    Cog Youth unemployment Initiative BirminghamDeveloping and delivering a website to tackle youth unemployment across the city of Birmingham. My role was to lead a team of designers to develop branding for a new youth unemployment initiative and then develop a marketing strategy that could be rolled out to schools across the city.

    Working on behalf of Tassimo and Bosch my role was to provide in-store demonstrations of Tassimo coffee machines to customers in John Lewis and Debenhams stores over the busy Christmas period. My aim was to drive sales of machines and raise awareness of the brand.

    On the recommendation of the university I was put forward as marketing lead within a team of designers to develop branding for Birmingham City Council’s Youth Promise initiative, a website to tackle youth unemployment across Birmingham. My roles and responsibilities included; managing relationships between the client and the team, developing ideas, organising team & client meetings, focus testing, and preparing and pitching project solutions for client presentations. The Youth Promise project was such a success I was kept on by the council were I led on the marketing strategy and implementation of the newly branded Cog site (www.cog-brum.co.uk).
