About me
I am a graduate of The University of Salford, Achieving a first class honours in BSc Professional Sound and Video Technology. During my studies I worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland as a Senior Personal Banker in Spinningfields, Manchester, and following my graduation I am looking for a career change. I am now based Brighton and I am looking for employment opportunities that allow me to utilise the skills and experience I have obtained during my studies and previous employment. I am hugely passionate about media and the arts, and would love to work in any field that encompasses creativity and innovative thinking, whilst being able to apply my aptitude for critical thinking and technical awareness.
Projects
  • We Stand With Manchester
We Stand With ManchesterCampaign group ‘Hope Not Hate’ commissioned a short film in 2017 to feature ordinary people on the streets of Manchester, and highlight the positive multi-cultural message ‘We Stand Together’. For this project I took on the role of production assistant and runner, and approached members of the public to seek their participation. Bambino - Kids, Coffee, Community.I was asked to produce a short video to promote a Manchester based café that specialises in catering for young children and their parents. I filmed and edited the footage myself, and extensively used Adobe After effects to create engaging and colourful captions and an animated version of the company’s existing logo. The result is a fun, vibrant commercial video that I am proud to have produced independently.

This role is based in a high pressure, fast paced call centre in which my role is to take inbound customer service calls and make outbound calls to source sales leads for banking products. I am required to use a multitude of different systems, such as various telephony desktop applications, banking databases and systems relating to anti-fraud monitoring, branch appointment booking and handling customer complaints. I have received training in many areas such as anti money laundering and tax evasion, data protection laws and the Financial Compensation scheme, all of which manifest themselves in a consistent and diligent adherence to all processes and policies, considering the intrinsic risk of banking where a customer is not physically present. My high standard of customer service saw me perform best of my team of 21 in a bonus structure determined by customer surveys. As a result I have been given the sub role of monitoring the performance of my colleagues, and counselling my colleagues to improve their own performance and the average of the department.

This programme of degree level study gave me the opportunity to work in many areas in which I am extremely passionate and want to adopt as my career path. Overseen by Salford’s School of Computing, Science and Engineering and based at MediaCityUK, it is a highly technical course which explores the scientific aspects of Film, Music and Television. The acute level of detail involved appealed to my personality as I am someone who likes to delve into the intricacies of how things work, whether it is software, hardware or scientific principles. Along with the technical understanding required, the course also encompassed the organisation of many media projects which allowed me to develop production skills such as personnel management, asset management and script development.
