I'm a highly creative individual with an analytical method, I'm an articulate communicator who believes in people and works at getting the best out of them. I understand the importance of marrying business sense with creativity in order to make brands economically viable and survive in today's competitive market. With an acute eye for detail and a special talent for visualising and curating the various elements, my core abilities lie in creative concept and producing from brief to final product and project managing across marketing, events and creative production.
I’m responsible for maintaining brand consistency and quality across all platforms for two e-commerce companies. The role is highly varied owing to the small size of the companies and involves all aspects of business including market research, international buying, logistics and sales. Among other duties I was responsible for social media, monthly e-newsletters, all promotional and campaign activity based on sales forecasts and industry trends and managing all online content across two websites. I implemented an in-house bar in order to drive customer interaction - a first in our industry - and set-up our seasonal tasting events. I organised and set-up our exhibition at the annual Food & Drink Show, managing all aspects of budget, logistics and media. I oversaw the set-up of Yatta Box, a second company specialising in custom designed goods, and project managed the website build and design from concept through to completion.
An evening job working in theatre production, namely art department, which allowed me to utilise my skills in art marking including set-design, prop-making and costume. The Box is a revue bar and late-night venue in Soho, renowned for it’s outlandish themes and controversial nightly shows. Working as part of it’s core production team, I was able to build and design sets, make and source props and work backstage during shows. I also worked closely with the events department in sourcing, planing and dressing the whole venue for it’s frequent themed private events. The shows changed weekly and continually had to be fresh, new and exciting for an audience that paid to be amazed by the extraordinary. This meant that creatively our team was under pressure to deliver edge-of-your-seat cutting ideas with a fast turnaround time from conception through to production.
I managed a busy studio for one of London’s top boutique health & fitness brands. This included operations, managing a front of house team across five sites, multiple diary and schedule management, studio sales and figures, client accounts and working on a CRM system. I was recognised for my copywriting skills and creative thinking and asked to work in the marketing department to assist with newsletters, website content, blogs and also help with the rolling out of a new CRM system.
I managed a busy front of house team as well as operations and sales for a thriving, quirky gym-chain, launching my branch from it’s opening as the brands premier club. Based in the city, the level of customer care, operations and attention to detail had to be meticulous.
I lived in Cape Town and worked in the South African film industry, initially acting and then predominantly in the art department - set building, prop making, styling. With an acute eye for detail and a special talent for visualising I am adept at all aspects of art making, art direction and creative production.
